A Walk Through Sa Bastida, the Late Roman archaeological site

The Cultural Associacion Al Rum is pleased to invite the foreign community of Alaró to a free guided visit to the old fortress sited at the top of the hill above Los Damunt neighbourhood.

Guided by de director of this brand new historical and archaeological project, Biel Llodrà, the attendees will be able to see some parts of ancient walls, water depots, houses and the current excavations of the present year at sector 1.

For now, investigators had dated the settlement in the roman, vandalic, byzantine and muslim periods (from IV century BC to XI century BC). This dates makes sa Bastida fortress a little older than the Castle of Alaró, and much older than Alaró itself.

The meeting point is at the gates of sa Bastida at the end of Son Borràs street, about 150 meters outside the town.

🗓️ Saturday, 7th October 2023 at 9.30 am. (duration: 2-3 hours)
📍 Meeting point: Gates of Sa Bastida, at the end of Carrer de Son Borràs.

Language: English
Registration: Mandatory (fill the form below)

It is mandatory to wear mountain boots, bring a bottle of water and hat or cap. The hiking is not difficult but requires good walking condition, and can handle moderate ascend and descend.
